Does Garamendi Think We’re Better Off Now Than We Were Four Years Ago?

The Democrat Party Has Rallied Around Obama’s Failed, Big-Government Policies

WASHINGTON — With a nearly $1 trillion stimulus, an exploding deficit that will reach $16 trillion today and an unemployment rate of 8.3 percent, up from 7.8 percent in 2008, Democrats are delusional to think that Americans are better off now than when Obama took office. After steamrolling over an already weak economy, can John Garamendi honestly say that California families and small business owners are better off?

“The question of this election is whether we are better off after four years of Obama and John Garamendi’s taxing, spending and borrowing agenda that is crippling our economy,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Is unacceptably high unemployment and a government spending addiction John Garamendi’s idea of ‘better off’?”

Right as the Democrat National Convention kicks off, the national debt will pass $16 trillion:

“Just as Democrats are gaveling in their convention Tuesday, the federal government likely will announce another dubious milestone — $16 trillion in total federal debt.” (“US Debt to Hit $16 Trillion on Tuesday as DNC Begins,” Newsmax, 9/3/2012)

When Obama became president, the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent and now, after almost four years, his party’s Washington agenda has pushed it to 8.3 percent:

“Though the unemployment rate, at 8.3 percent, is currently higher than it was when President Obama took office (7.8 percent), it wasn’t that Plouffe (and others) didn’t have a case to make yesterday.” (Jake Tapper, “Obama Team Readjusts On ‘Are You Better Off?,’” ABC News, 9/3/2012)

In a new poll, the majority of voters don’t believe they are better off now than they were four years ago:

“A majority of voters believe the country is worse off today than it was four years ago and that President Obama does not deserve reelection, according to a new poll for The Hill.” (Sheldon Alberts, “Hill Poll: Voters say second term undeserved, country is worse off,” The Hill, 9/4/2012)
