On WH Easter Egg Hunt, Carney Contradicts Himself AGAIN

March 19, 2013

The White House, in attempting to make Obama’s sequester as unnecessarily painful as possible, keeps getting twisted and caught in blatant exaggerations.

First, there was the kerfuffle over canceling the White House tours. Jay Carney said the White House canceled the tours. Then President Obama contradicted him, saying it was actually the Secret Service that did it. That led to an exchange last week between Carney and the White House press corps that gave most folks secondhand embarrassment.

Well, they’re at it again. This time, it’s the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Speculation is rampant that the White House will cancel the Easter Egg Roll too and blame it on the president’s sequester.

Politico reported yesterday that “the next casualty of sequestration could be the Easter Bunny.” White House officials are apparently warning ticketholders that the annual event could be on the chopping block.

But Friday, Jay Carney condescendingly told Fox News’ Jenna Lee, that the Easter Egg Roll was a completely separate budget—one that was paid-for completely by selling commemorative eggs and private donations.

Take a look at what he said:

Just a few days ago, it was “apples and oranges” and a “totally different budget”, but today it’s a different story.

From day one, The White House has played politics with the sequester. Now, the Easter Egg Roll is in their sights.

Tell them to stop the political games. Sign our petition to stop President Obama’s vacations until he reinstates the tours.
