Groundhog Day: Supporters Pushing The Second Coming Of Obamacare

April 11, 2013

For some in Washington, one monstrous bill taking over our healthcare system wasn’t enough.

The Washington Post is reporting this afternoon that many are seeking to pass a second Obamacare-type bill—this time to apparently lower costs.

“The Partnership is not, at this point, focusing on legislative action — it wants to build a bigger base of support before it heads to Capitol Hill. At some point though, it does see a need to pass yet another health reform bill, one that would focus more controlling costs than expanding access.”

It’s like Groundhog Day.

If you remember, Democrats campaigned for Obamacare, by promising that the goal was to lower healthcare costs for everyone.

That has not been the case however. Families have seen premiums rise by over $3,000—even though they were promised they’d be lowered by $2,500.

Even HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted recently that insurance premiums would rise. This is a major broken promise for Democrats. Many of them promised Obamacare would hold down costs.

A second bill to tackle costs is an admission that the Affordable Care Act has failed to live up to its very name.

Three years after they passed an awful law, Democrats want a do-over.

Tell them enough is enough.
