Obama’s Way To Pay For Wasteful Spending: Absolut Vanilla!

April 12, 2013

Earlier this week, President Obama unveiled his long overdue budget. The proposal includes higher taxes, more spending, and, of course, never, ever balances.

But we’re just getting into what exactly is in the budget and the smoke and mirrors Obama uses to make his plan seem anything close to palatable.

New reports today from both Politico and ABC News are exploring just who is shouldering the burden of Obama’s budget.

Well, it appears the answer lies in higher taxes such things as air travel and flavored vodka.

These new taxes will affect consumers in real ways—taking money from their pockets even as the economy still sputters along.

As Politico reports, on air travel alone, President Obama would triple the passenger security tax and add a per flight tax of $100 on airline, as well as a number of small fees.

Nick Calio, President of Airlines For America, said the new budget would add $5.5 billion in increased costs for both consumers and airlines.

In case that wasn’t good enough, Obama has set his sights on flavored vodka.

His budget would do away with a tax break for flavored, distilled liquors.

Yes, in these hard economic times, the answer to our debt lies in the hands of Absolut vanilla.

If anyone’s seen the amount of money we waste each year, you may need that vodka.
