With Friends Like These: ObamaCare Has Found Some Unlikely Foes

April 18, 2013

  • President Obama’s healthcare law has proved to be an unmitigated disaster and now even Democrats can’t hide it.

  • As the law is continually implemented, new reports surface showing just how bad the consequences of ObamaCare will be.

  • On top of all that, another author, Montana Senator Max Baucus, yesterday called it “a huge train wreck.”

  • Republicans always knew Obamacare was a bad law, now even Democrats who wrote it can’t deny it either.

Montana Senator Max Baucus Called Obamacare “A Huge Train Wreck.”  “A Democratic senator who helped craft President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law gave the administration “a failing grade” on Wednesday for its efforts to educate the public and small employers about sweeping changes due to take effect in eight months. ‘I just see a huge train wreck,’ Senator Max Baucus of Montana told Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at a hearing of the Senate Finance Committee, an oversight panel that he chairs.” (David Morgan, “Democratic Senator Says Government Has Failed On Healthcare Outreach,’” Reuters, 4/17/13)

Baucus Was A “Primary Author” Of Obamacare. “In addition to rank-and-file Democrats who voted for the healthcare law, Republicans this time are hoping to defeat Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) — who was the primary author of the Affordable Care Act in his position as Finance chairman.” (Sam Baker, “Obamacare Takes Friendly Fire,” The Hill, 4/6/13)

Health And Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Admitted That Obamacare Will Raise Health Insurance Premiums. “Some people purchasing new insurance policies for themselves this fall could see premiums rise because of requirements in the health-care law, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told reporters Tuesday.” (Louise Radnofsky, “Sebelius: Some Could See Insurance Premiums Rise,” The Wall Street Journal, 3/26/13)

West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller Said Obamacare Was “Beyond Comprehension.” “‘I believe that the Affordable Care Act is probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress. Tax reform obviously has been huge too, but up to this point it is just beyond comprehension,’ said Rockefeller.” (Paul Bedard, “Obamacare Architect Rockefeller: It’s ‘Beyond Comprehension’ Washington Examiner, 4/11/13)
