Pants on Fire for Martha Robertson – Again

Martha Robertson is compiling quite the record of bald faced lies isn’t she? First she made up the whole “GOP ops are trying to take over my website” thing. Then she told two whoppers regarding the VA, first with respect to funding and then about Congressman Reed’s votes – both claims had already been debunked by Politifact.

Well, Robertson is at it again claiming in her newest generic op-ed that “[t]his Congress has failed to produce a single jobs bill.” Unfortunately for Robertson, that exact claim, made by another Democrat, was recently rated PANTS ON FIRE BY POLTIFACT. Check it out here. As it turns out, the House has passed a number of jobs bills – here are just a few for Robertson to read before the next time she tries to pull another fast one on the voters:

H.R.803 – SKILLS Act, H.R.2481 – Veterans Economic Opportunity Act of 2013, H.R.2052 – Global Investment in American Jobs Act of 2013, H.R.678 – Bureau of Reclamation Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act, H.R.1105 – Small Business Capital Access and Job Preservation Act, H.R.1963 – Bureau of Reclamation Conduit Hydropower Development Equity and Jobs Act, H.R.1965 – Federal Lands Jobs and Energy Security Act of 2013, H.R.2231 – Offshore Energy and Jobs Act, and H.R.2640 Central Oregon Jobs and Water Security Act.

And let’s not forget the Keystone Pipeline which, despite Robertson’s aversion towards fossil fuels, would create thousands of jobs.

NRCC Comment: “Martha Robertson continues to embarrass herself by repeating dishonest rhetoric that has already been debunked by non-partisan fact checkers. Given Robertson’s already checkered relationship with the truth, it’s becoming clearer by the day that Southern Tier families can’t believe a word that she says.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
