Gallup: 6 in 10 Say Government is Too Powerful

New data from Gallup boasts another historically unprecedented number for the Obama Administration as a record number of Americans (60%) believe the federal government is too powerful.  “That’s one percentage point above the previous high recorded in September 2010,” and the greatest percent on record for Gallup dating back to 2002.1

Furthermore, not only does “this new high [encompass] Republicans (81%), who are now more likely than at any time since 2002 to say the government has too much power” and a matched record-high among Independents (65%), but it includes 38 percent of Democrats, “who now are more likely to say this than at any time since President Barack Obama took office in 2009.”1
