White House Will Tell Democrats Whats Wrong with ObamaCare But Not Republicans

October 23, 2013

The White House announced yesterday that senior HHS officials would be briefing House Democrats about the rocky implementation of ObamaCare.

House Republicans weren’t invited.

Is this White House so obsessed with “winning” and scoring political points that it won’t even include Republicans in a briefing on a failing law that is hurting millions of Americans, but will keep Democrats in the loop?

Starting next year, Americans will be required to purchase health insurance or face an ObamaCare penalty. The President has chosen not to delay this deadline, despite the fact that HealthCare.gov continues (after three weeks) to glitch-out and block users from learning more information. Now, President Obama is choosing to deliberately veil his administration’s actions by refusing to keep House Republicans informed. Meanwhile, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has also repeatedly refused to testify before Congress.

As Speaker Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck said yesterday, “All members – as well as the American people – deserve answers for this debacle. That’s why we have asked the administration to provide the same briefing to House Republicans.”

This move is simply a stunning new low for this White House, which promises the voters transparency and accountability and then locks out House Republicans, and the millions of Americans they represent, from the process.

The White House should be ashamed, but since this type of behavior has become routine for Democrats, they probably aren’t.
