Report: Obama Never Met Directly With Sebelius

December 6, 2013

No wonder President Obama apparently “didn’t know” the ObamaCare website was such a mess.

Politico is reporting today that Obama and Kathleen Sebelius have never met one-on-one.

The report, by Peter Schweizer, uses a Government Accountability Institute analysis to determine that Sebelius and Obama never met between July 12, 2010 (when the White House began cataloging meetings) and November 30, 2013.

Going back further, Politico found only one meeting between President Obama, former Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, and Sebelius on April 21, 2010.

According to Schweizer, in that time Obama met with his other Cabinet secretaries 277 times. Yet, in the run up to the implementation of his signature achievement—one that would control one-sixth of our economy—he never bothered to meet with the woman who was at the helm one-on-one.

And in the weeks following the disastrous site launch, President Obama said he wasn’t aware of the chronic technical problems that were made clear to Sebelius beforehand.

Perhaps if he had actually bothered to meet with her, he would have known?

But this speaks to a greater absence of leadership from this president. He never invested the time to take control and receive updates on ObamaCare. Now that the law is failing miserably, he has never passed up an opportunity to shield himself from the blame.

This has happened again and again.

In the Obama White House, the motto is clear: “the buck stops…over there.”
