Sebelius Proved She Didn’t Even Read the ObamaCare CBO Report When She Said This

February 18, 2014

Did Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius even read the shocking CBO report on ObamaCare released earlier this month?

“There is absolutely no evidence, and every economist will tell you this, that there is any job-loss related to the Affordable Care Act,” Sebelius told a crowd of reporters on Monday in Florida. “The number of full-time workers continues to increase. I know that’s a popular myth that continues to be repeated but it just is not accurate.”

That’s just not the case. This month’s bombshell report from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office confirmed that ObamaCare will “reduce the number of full-time workers by more than 2 million,” of which the impact will be felt mostly “among low-wage workers.”

You can tell that President Obama, Secretary Sebelius, and House Democrats are panicking over the latest CBO report when their strategy is to act like it doesn’t exist.

From Politico:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says there is “absolutely no evidence” that the Affordable Care Act will drive down employment, despite a report from the Congressional Budget Office released Feb. 4 predicting fewer people would be working.

“There is absolutely no evidence, and every economist will tell you this, that there is any job-loss related to the Affordable Care Act,” Sebelius told reporters in Orlando, Fla., on Monday. “Part-time physicians are actually down since 2010, not up. The number of full-time workers continues to increase. I know that’s a popular myth that continues to be repeated but it just is not accurate.”

The CBO report said the health care law will cause Americans to cut their work hours, equating to 2 million fewer jobs in 2017. That number is predicted to eventually rise to the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs in 2024.
