6 Democrat Policies We Wish Were April Fools’ Jokes (But Aren’t)

March 31, 2014

It’s April Fools’ Day, and while Americans across the country pull fun pranks on their family and friends, Democrats have some April Fools’ “jokes” of their own as well. Unfortunately, their jokes are very real, and they get told every day of the year.

Here are 6 Democrat policies that we wish were April Fools’ Jokes (but aren’t.)

1. ObamaCare

Between the millions of cancelled plans, the skyrocketing prices, and the numerous politically-motivated delays, a clear majority of Americans wish ObamaCare was a giant April Fools’ joke.

Unfortunately, as long as President Obama and Nancy Pelosi get their way, it’s very real.

2. Keystone Pipeline Delays

More than five years after the project was first proposed, President Obama continues to drag his feet on the Keystone Pipeline. It would almost be hilarious when you consider the fact that more than 150 business leaders have encouraged the President to approve the project, that the prime minister of Canada has called Obama out on his unnecessary “punts,” and that even former White House officials have admitted they would support the Pipeline project.

But then you remember that tens of thousands of American jobs are at stake along with nearly a million barrels of securely imported oil a day, which makes the Obama Administration’s delay dance not funny at all.

3. War On Coal

The White House has gone out of its way to impose new strict regulations on coal plants, which provide 40% of the United States’ electricity. The President’s aggressive actions may cost you when you pay your electrical bill, and – if you’re one of the 700,000 workers whose jobs are dependent on coal – may even cost you your paycheck.

4. “If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep It.”

This one doesn’t need much explanation. President Obama and House Democrats repeated this promise not just on April Fools’ Day, but every day of the year since ObamaCare was passed.

Millions of lost plans later, no one’s laughing.

5. Unemployment Rate

Our unemployment rate, standing at 6.7%, is unacceptably high. Meanwhile, the President and House Democrats continue to pay lip service to concerned Americans by promising “pivots” to job creation – only to return to the same tired and failed liberal ideas the next day.

6. IRS Scandal

The Obama Administration continues to ignore the IRS scandal, while former IRS head Lois Lerner continues to “plead the 5th” and hide crucial details. Meanwhile, House Democrats seem to have no problem with the IRS calling the ObamaCare penalty tax a “shared responsibility payment.”

It would be laughable if it wasn’t so serious.
