Obama and Barber Delay Keystone XL Pipeline, Again

Washington DC – On Friday afternoon, the Obama Administration announced it would extend the reviewing period – again – for the Keystone XL Pipeline which could delay a decision on the project until after the midterm elections. In this “year of action,” the Obama administration will postpone creating new jobs, energy independence and boosting America’s economy. Democrats, like Ron Barber, would rather cater to their far-left liberal donors than create American jobs.

“Ron Barber and his Democrat allies continue to choose anti-energy Democrat donors over families and American jobs with this Keystone delay,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “It’s time for Barber to put creating jobs ahead of filling his campaign coffers.”

After a review in 2014, the Keystone XL Pipeline was found to have limited adverse environmental impacts during construction and operation. This project would create thousands of new jobs, help secure American energy independence and boost the economy. It is disappointing that Democrats, like Ron Barber, would rather delay the project and keep their donors intact than support American families and jobs.
