Illinois Democrat Congressman Hiding His Tax Returns. Will He Be The Next IL Politician Sent To Prison?

July 11, 2014

Can you believe that Congressman Brad Schneider continues with his refusal to disclose his 2011, 2012 and 2013 tax returns? It’s the ultimate bugger off to reporters who are trying to report on the freshman congressman’s financial interests. Seeing Schneider sits on committees and votes on issues that could pertain to his own personal financial investments, it’s not uncalled for that he disclose his tax returns dating back to the year before he was elected to Congress.

Even Southern Illinois Congressman Bill Enyart thinks it’s imperative that candidates for Congress release their tax returns and even released this video in 2012 saying just that.

So what’s the hold up with Schneider? Something just seems odd that he is digging in his heels over this issue. What is he trying to hide?

NRCC Statement: “Congressman Brad Schneider hiding his tax returns from the public makes the freshman member resemble the corrupt politicians who are currently staring at the walls in Illinois prisons. If Schneider has conducted his personal finances in a legal and appropriate manner, then why is he trying to keep them from reporters in Chicago? Something just doesn’t seem right and the only way for Schneider to vindicate himself is to come clean and provide his tax returns dating back to 2011.” – Katie Prill, NRCC Spokeswoman
