Look Out Tennesseans – Your Insurance Rates Are Going To Increase

July 17, 2014

Health insurance companies across the state of Tennessee are requesting rate increases for the upcoming year. BlueCross BlueShield has cited a 19% increase, 14.4% increase from Humana, and a 7.5% increase from Cigna.

BlueCross BlueShield is Tennessee’s most dominant carrier after enrolling 133,291 users in ObamaCare’s first open enrollment period. With increases of 19% beginning Jan. 1, 2015, health insurance holders across the state will feel the negative effects of Obamacare and the direct costs.

Instead of making health care more affordable, ObamaCare has burdened Americans with higher insurance rates. Taxpayers deserve a Republican leader in Congress who will repeal this law and promote heath care stability by repealing ObamaCare.

From The Nashville Business Journal:

“Insurance rates will likely increase in Tennessee during the Affordable Care Act’s second year of open enrollment. According to filings with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking approval for an average rate increase of 19 percent starting Jan. 1, 2015 for its individual ACA products.”
