You Won’t Believe What Words Lois Lerner Used To Describe Conservatives

July 30, 2014

A document presented to the House Ways and Means Committee today revealed that former IRS official Lois Lerner referred to conservatives as “—-holes” in an email exchange with a colleague in 2012. “So we don’t need to worry about alien terrorists [sic],” she wrote. “It’s our own crazies that will take us down.”

Lerner has come under fierce scrutiny over of her unfair treatment of conservative groups while Lerner served as director of the IRS. Meanwhile, House Democrats have refused to hold the IRS or Lerner accountable for their actions.

It’s no small wonder that, with attitudes like Lerner’s, the IRS became a vehicle to politically target conservative groups. Will this finally be the wake up call for President Obama and House Democrats to act?

From the Wall Street Journal:

A newly discovered email shows that former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner once referred to conservatives as “—holes,” according to new documents released by House Republicans.

In the November 2012 email exchange, apparently with a friend or family member, Ms. Lerner also suggests that conservatives could threaten the nation’s future, saying, “So we don’t need to worry about alien teRrorists [sic]. It’s our own crazies that will take us down.”

The person with whom Ms. Lerner was emailing–whose name is redacted–had referred in the exchange to the “whacko wing of the GOP” and “the right wing radio shows.” The word used by Ms. Lerner had also been redacted, having the first three letters blacked out.

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R., Mich.) said the email “directly demonstrates Ms. Lerner’s deep animus towards conservatives” and shows that her “mistreatment of conservative groups was driven by her personal hostility toward conservatives.”

The letter calls on the Justice Department to investigate the matter “aggressively” or appoint a special counsel.
