Amanda Renteria Doesn’t Know When Social Security Began

August 14, 2014

Yesterday, Washington insider Amanda Renteria held a public forum to commemorate the 61st anniversary of Social Security. The problem is Social Security was signed into law in 1935 – 79 years ago.

Here’s what she said:

“I’m looking forward to meeting with Hanford residents and listening to their concerns. In honor of the 61st Anniversary of Social Security being signed into law, I would also like to address the importance of protecting our parents and grandparents in the Central Valley by strengthening our social security benefits.”

And here is a history of Social Security:

“On August 14, 1935 President Roosevelt signed the bill into law at a ceremony in the White House Cabinet Room.”

Oops.

One would think a Washington insider like Amanda Renteria would know when Social Security was established. This is another embarrassing mistake by Amanda Renteria that further proves she is wildly out of touch with the voters she wants to represent.”
