ObamaCare is Affecting Schools and Substitute Teachers. Learn More Here!

August 21, 2014

According to an article from WTAJ CBS in Pennsylvania, starting in January schools across the country will be forced to limit substitute teachers’ work hours in order to save money under ObamaCare’s 30-hour rule.

Under ObamaCare’s 30-hour rule, schools will be required to offer benefits for all part-time employees who work more than thirty hours a week. Unfortunately, most schools have limited budgets and cannot afford to pay for benefits as they need to purchase new school supplies and upgrade technology equipment for their students.

This November, families will provide continuity for their kids in school by electing Republican leaders to Congress who will promote real healthcare reform by repealing ObamaCare.

From WTAJ:

“Urbassik said, ‘Now they’re going to have a limited number of days they can work in each district, and if you have to have a teacher that maybe has to be sick out all week for some reason, then how are you going to have one sub to cover for that class? How are you going to have continuity for the students?’

“’You have to feel bad for the districts and the kids because the districts are the ones who need the subs, and the kids are the ones who are going to get hurt, and that’s what we’re all here for,’ said Urbassik.”
