Collin Peterson Doubles Down On Private Plane Use

September 10, 2014

Yesterday, when questioned about using taxpayer dollars to pay for trips on his private plane, 23-year professional politician Collin Peterson doubled down and defended the indefensible.

“As for the personal mileage reimbursements, Peterson blamed flights he makes on his personal plane for official business. He acknowledged that it would be cheaper to drive, but he said it’s much quicker to fly.

“The car mileage would be about 75 percent of what the plane mileage would be,” he said. “But instead of four hours to Pipestone [a town in the southern reaches of his district], it’s one hour.” (Devin Henry, “Peterson, Nolan targets in fresh round of Republican ads,” MinnPost, 9/9/2014)

At least Peterson is willing to admit he’s fleecing taxpayers out of their hard earned salaries. Get the facts at www.petersonrecord.com.

NRCC Comment: “This is yet another example of how reckless Collin Peterson is with taxpayer dollars. Rather than save money that belongs to Minnesota’s taxpayers, Collin Peterson is using it to fly his private plane across the state. There’s no question Peterson’s 23 years in Washington has changed him for the worse. Now it’s time for him to go.” – Tyler Q. Houlton, NRCC Spokesman
