NRCC Ad Highlighting Tim Bishop’s Corruption

September 23, 2014

Good morning,

The NRCC is up with its second ad of the cycle in NY-01 entitled “Favors.” The ad highlights not only Tim Bishop’s pay-for-pay scheme, but also his willingness to go on the air with commercials lying to voters about it. The ad will be airing on New York City cable networks. Check it out here.

NRCC Comment: “As if it weren’t bad enough that Tim Bishop shook down a constituent for $10,000, Bishop also has the gall to lie to voters about it in his television ads. The fact is, Bishop will say anything to keep his job and Long Island families deserve better than a lying, corrupt Congressman.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior

Transcript:

Anncr: Tim Bishop brags about doing favors.

Bishop: And I’ve never asked for anything in return.

Anncr: A lie

Secret emails prove Bishop did a favor then shook down constituent for ten grand.

The Post called it a bribe and Bishop is still under investigation.

Investigators found reason to believe Bishop broke the law.

Named one of Congress’s most corrupt.
