15 TV Reboots and Spinoffs Not Nearly As Bad As Ann Kirkpatrick’s Second Try At Congress

October 22, 2014

Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick’s second try at representing Arizona in Congress is even worse than her first stint, when voters kicked her out of office for voting for Obamacare and the stimulus.

In fact, her congressional reboot is far worse than these infamous TV reboots and spinoffs that also unsuccessfully sought to breathe new life into old ideas:

The Brady Bunch Variety Hour – 1976
Original: The Brady Bunch
Two years after the original was canceled, the Brady’s reunited, selling their suburban home and moving to the beach to pursue a song and dance act. Bell bottoms, lots of sequins and “Fake Jan.”

Baywatch Nights – 1995
Original: Baywatch
When the sun went down, David Hasselhoff turned from lifeguard to private eye.

Saved By The Bell: The College Years – 1993
Original: Saved By The Bell
I mean, who really ever wanted this series to end?

Saved By The Bell: The New Class – 1993
Original: Saved By The Bell
Whereas “The College Years” was a legit show, no one could ever really get into this new flock of Bayside Tigers.

Three’s a Crowd – 1984
Original: Three’s Company
At some point Jack Tripper had to settle down, but without Janice and Chrissy, this was a dud.

Joey – 2004
Original: Friends
Doomed before it even had a chance.

Joanie Loves Chachi – 1982
Original: Happy Days
They were better off sticking to “Happy Days,” where they quickly returned when this spinoff flopped.

90210 – 2008
Original: Beverly Hills, 90210
And we thought we’d never see Kelly and Brenda together again…

The Brady Brides – 1981
Original: The Brady Bunch
Let’s just pretend that variety show never happened. Double wedding for Marsha and Jan, followed by the couples buying a home together.

Love Boat: The Next Wave – 1998
Original: The Love Boat
Didn’t make the splash its creators were hoping.

The New Leave It To Beaver – 1983
Original: Leave It To Beaver
Shockingly, this re-boot last for six years.

The Growing Pains Movie – 2000
Original: Growing Pains
Maggie Seaver runs for Congress, although we never learn her party affiliation.

The Golden Palace – 1992
Original: The Golden Girls
So brief, people don’t even know this one happened.

Dallas – 2012
Original: Dallas
An A+ job at living up to expectations.

The Bradys – 1990
Original: The Brady Bunch
Yeah, another one. They just couldn’t stop. Nicknamed “Bradysomething,” this dramatic series included Bobby becoming paralyzed and Marsha turning to the bottle to cope with her husband’s constant unemployment.
