The NRA Calls Patrick Henry Hays A Liar

October 30, 2014

The NRA hasn’t been shy about calling out Pat Hays for running a dishonest campaign. Even after numerous articles about Hays’ inappropriate use of an NRA fundraising letter, Democrats continue to push out this untrue message in mailings to voters. Click here for Hays’ NRA Mail.

From the AP:

“For Hays to knowingly misrepresent what he knows is a mass mailing as a personal endorsement is a flat out lie,” NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said.

Arulanandam said the group is spending more than seven figures targeting Hays.

From the Dem-Gazette:

Furr’s statement led Fairfax, Va.-based NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam to declare that “Patrick Henry Hays is a liar.”

Hays is “knowingly misrepresenting” a mass-mailing from the NRA “as a personal endorsement,” Arulanandam said in a telephone interview. That’s why he said the NRA is pleased to announce that the group will be making a “seven-figure expenditure” in television, online and mail advertising and phone calls to defeat Hays.

From the Dem-Gazette Editorial Board:

For some reason, for some regrettable reason, in less than a month Patrick Henry Hays’ campaign went from sailing high through the sky to plowing through, or maybe under, the mud.

NRCC Statement: “Hypocritical career politician Pat Hays has lost all credibility with Arkansas families. His lies have been well documented in newspapers across the district, yet Hays continues with this deception. It’s unfortunate Pat Hays doesn’t have any respect for voters to be honest with them.” – Katie Prill, NRCC Spokeswoman
