House Democrats Want More Liberal Messaging in 2016

Democrats just don’t learn do they? According to the Politico story below, Nancy Pelosi is assembling a new team to figure out how to stop being so “badly out of step with the American public.” Well, that part makes sense – after all, Americans have repeatedly rejected Pelosi, her toxic agenda, and her crop of disastrous candidates.

But what strikes me as interesting here is who she has advising her on what is or isn’t “out-of-touch.” Let’s take a look at the districts that these folks represent and ask yourself – is this going to fix the problem Democrats have winning swing district elections? Will these folks be able to craft a message that will allow Democrats to win in places where Obama didn’t win by double digits? Or is this nothing more than an echo chamber for the same failed messaging that appeals to Pelosi’s liberal base and NO ONE ELSE?

NRCC Comment: “It is absolutely laughable that Nancy Pelosi thinks that Washington Democrats can make their message a little less ‘out-of-touch’ by assembling a group of liberals whose idea of a competitive race is a weekend 5K. The fact is, the Democrats’ politics, policies, and messaging are moving further to the fringes and this group of Pelosi lapdogs is only going to speed up that process.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
