BREAKING: Gwen Graham Forgets She Represents Over 200 Miles of Coastline

Earlier this morning, Gwen Graham voted in opposition to H.R. 2028, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.  This bill includes Army Corps of Engineers funding for coastal restoration, navigation projects, flood mitigation and hurricane preparedness.

Since Graham’s district consists of 200-plus miles of coastline that is prone to hurricanes, it would seem like a good idea for her to do that whole “reach across the aisle” thing she’s always talking about to support the Army Corps of Engineers, right?   Apparently not.

Graham voted no, and demonstrated that she would rather vote with Nancy Pelosi instead of the 10 Democrats who actually did reach across the aisle to support important funding for coastal restoration, navigation projects, flood mitigation and hurricane preparedness.

NRCC Comment:  “Gwen Graham is more worried about scoring points with Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic leaders in Washington than she is about fighting for her district.  When you represent a district with over 200 miles of coastline in the Gulf of Mexico, it should be a no brainer that you vote to secure funding for hurricane preparedness.” -NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
