Elizabeth Esty Has a Funny Way of Showing Her Support for Veterans

It’s another day and another Elizabeth Esty waffle – this time regarding her supposed support of our veterans.  Esty says right on her website, “I strongly believe we must honor the commitments we make to our service members and veterans.”  If that were so, then why did she vote last night against funding the Department of Veterans Affairs?

That’s right – instead of standing up for the 42,020 veterans residing in her district by funding the Danbury Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Waterbury VA Primary Care Center and Danbury Vet Center, Esty instead decided to join her pal, Nancy Pelosi, in voting against funding the Department of Veterans Affairs.

I guess we can chalk this up as another example of Elizabeth Esty’s rhetoric in Connecticut not matching her voting record in Washington, D.C.

NRCC Comment:  “Someone needs to tell Elizabeth Esty that protecting our veterans is more important than scoring brownie points with Nancy Pelosi.  Elizabeth Esty owes an apology to the 42,020 veterans in her district who she snubbed by giving in to Nancy Pelosi’s demands that Esty vote against funding the Department of Veterans Affairs.”  –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
