Pete Gallego Is In A Tight Spot On Obamacare

May 5, 2016

Pete Gallego is in a tight spot. Recent surveys show Obamacare is growing more unpopular, driven in part by a liberal base fired up by Bernie Sanders’ campaign that wants to go even further, while Democrats simultaneously face a possible November surprise when health care premiums are expected to skyrocket. Gallego has long stood by the law, having voted against repealing it and many specific fixes.

Additionally, Gallego was an early endorser of Hillary Clinton, who has fully embraced Obamacare and the more than $700 billion in Medicare cuts that come with it. While Gallego may be happy to align himself with the creator of HillaryCare, southwest Texas voters will undoubtedly feel different in November.

NRCC Comment: “Instead of standing with hardworking 23rd District families, Pete Gallego has chosen to stand with Hillary Clinton and defend the disaster of Obamacare. While Gallego may be happy to align himself with the creator of HillaryCare, southwest Texas voters will undoubtedly feel different in November.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
