Today a federal judge ruled that the Obama administration was once again overstepping its constitutional bounds. Finding in favor of House Republicans, Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled that the Obama administration does not have the authority to spend more than $175 million on its “cost-sharing” program that was never authorized by Congress.

NRCC Comment: “Today’s ruling that President Obama has once again overstepped his constitutional authority should come as no surprise, as this has been the administration’s pattern over the past 7 and a half years. President Obama’s failed health care law has increased costs and remains deeply unpopular among voters, and no amount of illegal executive action will change that. House Democrats will have to answer for their continued support of Obamacare in November.” – Bob Salera, NRCC Spokesman

A federal judge on Thursday ruled for House Republicans in their lawsuit against the Obama administration over ObamaCare.

In a major ruling, Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled that the administration does not have the power to spend money on “cost sharing reduction” payments to insurers without an appropriation from Congress.

Collyer stayed her ruling so that the administration can appeal the decision.
