It’s strike 4 for Mike Derrick

May 23, 2016

strikeNY-21 candidate Mike Derrick continues demonstrating why national Democrats have given up on his campaign.  Now Derrick is saying that he hasn’t read the NDAA and that doing so is not on his list of priorities because he is too busy campaigning.  Not exactly a smart move by Derrick to blow off Fort Drum – a military base whose funding is authorized by the NDAA –  considering that the base is the largest single site employer in NY-21.

And yes, this is the same Derrick who said it was “a wasted opportunity” to have Elise Stefanik serve on the House Armed Services Committee because he deserves it instead.  So for those keeping score at home, Derrick has now supported vetoing last year’s NDAA, supports bringing known terrorists onto American soil, supports the Iran nuclear deal that funds terrorism, and now refuses to read the NDAA’s impact on Fort Drum.

NRCC Comment: “Mike Derrick admitting that he can’t be bothered to read a bill impacting Fort Drum soldiers and their families shows you just how clueless he is. It’s no mystery as to why national Democrats have abandoned Mike Derrick’s campaign for Congress.”  –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
