Would Huerta and Parra Vote With Valadao To Bring More Water To The Valley?

May 26, 2016

droughtLast night the House of Representatives passed legislation that included language from David Valadao that would increase the availability of water for farmers in California’s drought-stricken Central Valley. In fact, the bill would have ensured that more water is pumped into the Valley during periods of severe drought when it is needed most. Clearly this legislation is right for Valley farmers who have suffered greatly from nonsensical policies that prevent adequate amounts of water from reaching their crops.

Would CA-21 Democratic challengers Emilio Huerta and Daniel Parra have voted in favor of Valadao’s language to bring more water to Valley farmers? Or would they have stood with Bay Area liberals and blocked increased water pumping to the Valley in times of severe drought?

NRCC Comment: “David Valadao has fought tirelessly to bring more water to the Central Valley, working to ensure legislation to help Valley farmers passed the House of Representatives. Would Emilio Huerta and Daniel Parra have supported Valadao’s language? Or would they have stood with Bay Area liberals to the detriment of the Valley?” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
