Brad Ashford Stands with Washington Bureaucrats

July 7, 2016

WASHINGTON – Brad Ashford voted today to put the bureaucrats in Washington D.C. ahead of the well-being of the American people. His vote against the Federal Information Systems Safeguards Act, which would force federal employees to be held accountable for misconduct and mismanagement proves he is no longer fit to represent the hard-working people of Nebraska.

The Federal Information Systems Safeguards Act includes multiple provisions to make federal employees more accountable for misconduct and mismanagement within federal agencies and organizations, including expanding the ability to fire, suspend, or demote Senior Executive Service employees (SES) based on their performance. This vote makes it clear Ashford has placed a priority on the well-being of Washington bureaucrats instead of fighting for a more effective and efficient government that works towards improving the lives of American citizens.

“Brad Ashford’s vote against this bill could not be more transparent, showing where his true loyalties lie,” NRCC Communications Director Katie Martin. “His decision to protect Washington bureaucrats instead of holding them accountable for their poor performance proves he cannot be trusted to put the interest of Nebraska above all else.”
