Obama’s HHS Secretary Agrees: Rural Communities Have Been Hit Hardest By Obamacare
President Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius agrees America’s rural communities have been hit hardest by Obamacare’s failures.
So why do House Democrats continue to argue this law is good for the American people?
Kathleen Sebelius, the former Health and Human Services Secretary under former President Barack Obama, said on Sunday that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) limited health care choices for Americans in rural counties.
Sebelius appeared on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, where host Chuck Todd reiterated a conservative argument that the ACA, commonly called Obamacare, nearly eliminated the choice of health insurance plans for rural counties.
“It’s truly the rural counties that have been hit the hardest under Obamacare when it comes to one word and that’s choice,” Todd said.
“Well I think that’s true, Chuck,” Sebelius said in agreement.
The Obama administration confirmed in October of 2016 that premiums would increase, and that one in five consumers would only have one choice of insurer, according to the Associated Press.
