this is disqualifying

September 10, 2018

Some candidates spend their primaries knocking doors, attending events, and telling voters why they are fit to represent them in Congress.

Other candidates use that time to compare the President to a terrorist mastermind and call White House employees Nazis.

11 days ago the Washington Free Beacon revealed that Sean Casten compared President Trump to Osama Bin Laden. Today we learned that he also told voters that there are Nazis working in the White House on two different occasions.

After widespread condemnation, Sean Casten’s campaign said that he “regrets” comparing Trump to Bin Laden. Interestingly, he has no regret for calling an entire White House Nazis. Instead he doubled down and invoked the death of Heather Heyer by white supremacists in Charlottesville in his defense.

“Sean Casten’s litany of offensive comments disqualifies him from representing Illinois’ 6th congressional district in Congress. If he thinks he can just sweep these comments under the rug and move on, he is sorely mistaken. Sean Casten will be held accountable.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maddie Anderson
