The Hill reported this week that a number of school districts in Indiana are cutting their employee’s hours – all thanks to ObamaCare.

Teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and aides are all in danger of facing reduced hours and less pay thanks to the law’s employer mandate. The mandate, which requires employers provide healthcare coverage for employees who work more than 30 hours a week, is proving to be a constant headache for business owners and employers across the country.

In response to the school districts’ frustrations, Members of the Indiana delegation sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius expressing their disappointment and frustrations with the job-crushing law.

“Secretary Sebelius, as a former Governor, we are sure you can appreciate the difficult choices being made in the heartland to deal with decisions handed down from Washington, D.C.,” they wrote. “Hundreds of middle class Hoosiers working in schools will now suffer the consequences of a law you told the American people would serve as a solution to making health care affordable for the middle class.”

So far, the Affordable Care Act has proved to be anything but affordable for millions of hard-working families across the country. These teachers and school employees are just the latest to suffer due to the overreaching, job-destroying, billion-dollar law.

Ahead of President Obama’s ObamaCare speech in California tomorrow, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney yesterday stated this:

“He’ll highlight the promising news that despite dire predictions, early data on insurance competition and premiums in the state show that ACA — the Affordable Care Act — is creating quality affordable choices for Californians who plan to buy insurance this fall,” press secretary Jay Carney said.

Hmm…seems like Jay hasn’t been doing his homework. Just earlier this week, Forbes reported that in California, individual health insurance premiums will be skyrocketing up to 146%.

Check out this graphic from Forbes that details these cost increases:

Perhaps Jay should have done some research before promising more “affordable choices” for hard-working families, especially when the data is showing the exact opposite.

With 7 months to go before the implementation of ObamaCare, the public unease and uncertainty around the law continues to grow rapidly by the day. After the American people learned that the scandal-ridden IRS would be handling the law’s implementation, it’s no surprise that the public’s fears and worry surrounding the law continue to mount.

In a new survey released by InsuranceQuotes.com, almost 50% of Americans believe that the new health care law will make it more difficult for them to receive adequate medical care. Additionally, over 64% of people have yet to decide whether or not they are going to sign up for insurance by the January 1st deadline.

Check out some more frightening stats from the survey conducted:

58% of adults aren’t sure if they will be eligible for tax credits to help offset ObamaCare’s costs

60% of people are afraid that ObamaCare will end up increasing their health care costs

68% of low-income Americans aren’t sure if they qualify for tax credits that would help to subsidize their insurance costs

The worst part? If not enough people enroll to help offset the program’s costs, it’ll drive up health care costs even higher for the rest of the country.

Laura Adams, senior insurance analyst at InsuranceQuotes.com, said public uncertainty about Obamacare—particularly a lack of commitment to signing up—could end up driving up health-insurance costs under the program because not enough healthy people will participate to offset benefits payouts.

“I was really shocked that 64 percent [of uninsured adults] said they haven’t decided if they will purchase insurance by the Jan. 1 deadline,” Adams said. “I was definitely surprised by the high number of people who really have no clue what they’re going to do next year.”

So far, all we’ve seen from ObamaCare is growing unease and worry from the American people. It’s unacceptable.

Well, this is embarrassing.

Looks like Steve Israel and his Democratic recruits are finding out what we’ve known all along: Nancy Pelosi and her extreme liberal agenda aren’t sitting well with voters, and are proving to be a toxic recipe for 2014. Israel’s recruits are dropping like flies left and right. We can only imagine the number of Democratic failures to come in the coming months.

Check out the fails so far:

FAIL: OH-07 and OH-16: John Boccieri announced he has no immediate plans to run after being heavily recruited by the DCCC. The DCCC even conducted polling to try and get him in.

FAIL: MN-02: One of Israel most prized recruits, Sona Mehring announced she was dropping out of her race – only three week into her run.

FAIL: MN-06: Just days after Michele Bachmann’s retirement announcement, DCCC sweetheart Jim Graves announced he was pulling out of the race, leaving an empty Dem slot.

FAIL: IA-03: The much-touted Mike Sherzan dropped out of his race.

FAIL: IA-03: Just two weeks after Sherzan opted out, the Democrats second choice in this district –former State Sen. Staci Appel – did the same thing.

FAIL: CA-21: Last cycle Democrats attempted unsuccessfully to recruit Michael Rubio in CA-21. They tried again this time and instead Rubio opted for a lobbying gig with Chevron.

FAIL: CA-21: After Rubio opted out, Democrats looked to Leticia Perez – who went for a state Senate bid instead, leaving them with no viable candidate in one of their top targets.

FAIL: CA-31: Another real problem for Democrats: Last cycle, they recruited Pete Aguilar here – who went on to loss his primary. Well, what do you know – former Congressman Joe Baca has announced he’s challenging Aguilar in the Democrats No. 1 national target – a major headache for the DCCC.

Ahead of the 2014 elections, President Obama has been anything but quiet about how badly he wants Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker of the House again. He knows his party is in trouble – with ObamaCare implementation around the corner, the recent IRS and Benghazi scandals, and a growing disenchantment with the extreme liberal agenda, he needs all the help he can get.

So of course he’s turning to Nancy to help turn things around. Without a Democratic-controlled House, the President won’t be able to push his extreme agenda through the halls of Congress and on to the American people.

At a fundraiser last night in Chicago, Obama said, ”I could not be more anxious or eager to have her back as Speaker of the House,”

He also encouraged his millionaire backers, many of whom were present at the Democratic fundraiser, to keep spending and opening their pocketbooks to ensure his liberal agenda is well-funded:

“We need you to keep on writing those checks and, if you haven’t maxed out, max out. Get your friends to max out.”

Our Republican majority is the last line of defense against the Obama-Pelosi machine. Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House? We can’t let this happen. Click the tweet below if you’re not going to let Nancy Pelosi become Speaker again on your watch:

We can’t let this happen. ow.ly/lyln1

Check out some of the coverage from yesterday’s billboard rollout:

National:

Yahoo: Embattled IRS part of House GOP attack ad campaign
A House Republican group is launching an ad campaign against four incumbent Democrats this week that aims to tie the lawmakers to the Internal Revenue Service, a government agency under scrutiny after officials admitted earlier this month to targeting conservative groups applying for nonprofit status.

US News & World Report: GOP Thinks They Have Election Gold With Health Care and IRS Scandal
The GOP campaign group rolled out a series of “mobile ads” against vulnerable Democrats including Rep. John Barrow, D-Ga.; Ron Barber, D-Ariz.; Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz.; and Collin Peterson, D-Minn., this week that not only linked members to the Affordable Care Act, but also tried to connect them to the IRS, which has been embroiled in scandal over the last few weeks.

Republicans have been trying to take advantage of the Internal Revenue Service’s politically toxic targeting scandal to better position their party for the 2014 midterm elections. And one big area of focus is President Obama’s new health-care law…The House GOP’s campaign committee this week launched ads against a handful of House Democrats seen as most vulnerable in 2014. The National Republican Campaign Committee on Tuesday sent mobile billboards cruising through the districts of House Democrats Ann Kirkpatrick (Ariz.), Ron Barber (Ariz.), John Barrow (Ga.) and Collin C. Peterson (Minn.).

The National Republican Congressional Committee is tying four House Democrats to the Internal Revenue Service, accusing them of voting to “put the IRS in charge of your healthcare” in mobile billboards. The billboards seek to capitalize on the ongoing scandal over the IRS’s targeting conservative groups and criticize Democrats for giving the IRS a major role in ObamaCare. Republicans say a big part of their planned ObamaCare attacks heading into the next election will focus on the role the unpopular IRS has in the law’s impending implementation.

According to a recent Gallup poll, 54% of Americans say that the federal government has grown too much, and is too involved in the lives of American citizens.

According to an article from today’s Washington Times, “respondents were uncomfortable with “the government having too many laws, being too involved in citizens lives, threatening freedom of speech, imposing health care laws, and being ‘socialist’ in general.”

With the ongoing Benghazi and IRS scandals that the Obama Administration is currently embroiled in, it’s no surprise that the American public is sick and tired of the way that Washington operates.

And the apprehension has only gotten worse – in 2004, 30% of Americans thought that the federal government poses a threat to our daily rights and freedoms. Today, that number has risen to 46%.

The American people are tired of our overreaching, big-government agenda – it’s time that the Obama Administration had a reality check.

Well, it looks like with 18 months to go before the 2014 elections, California Democrats are already engaging in middle school antics.

Joe Baca, who’s running for the 31st District seat, has been touting his Washington endorsements as if it’s something he should be proud of. A true Washington insider, Baca has been bragging to Roll Call about the 30 House Democrats who are supporting him in the primary. But Baca shouldn’t get too comfortable – Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, the DCCC backed candidate, is coming after him touting similarly “good” endorsements.

That’s right – with more than a year to go before the election, the infighting and petty politics between the two Democrats has already begun.

“I represented that district, I have the name ID, I’m experienced and have a proven track record, and I’m a veteran and that’s what will stand out,” Baca said.

The only thing that stands out for Baca is the disarray and DCCC recruiting mess that he’s found himself in. Before he worries about running to represent California’s 31st, maybe he should figure out how to control the Democratic infighting and endorsement competition that’s already derailing his campaign.

“This shouldn’t be a popularity contest to see who can win over Nancy Pelosi and her Washington Democrats. This is about California families and they deserve better than Baca and Aguilar’s petty approach to campaigning.”

– NRCC Spokeswoman Danielle Varallo

The program, which provides informative health and education services to low-income families and children, expects to take a hit next year when ObamaCare is fully implemented – and program officials are less than pleased.

In one conference session on the pending healthcare bill, “some of the [managers for regional Head Start] organizations [said] ‘We don’t know what to do,’” said Elizabeth Steinberg, the CEO of Community Action Partnership in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The worried managers come from “all over the country,” said Steinberg, whose Head Start program has 387 children.

Nancy Nordyk, a Head Start director in Oregon, predicts that costs next year will increase more than 9%. And due to these skyrocketing costs, many program workers are going to find their hours cut and consequently, a smaller paycheck. Additionally, some staffers may face lay-offs to make up for the increased daily costs of running the program and employing staff.

So let’s get this straight – reduced hours, fewer employees, and more paperwork for program officials?

What a nightmare.

Children all across the country are going to be affected by these cuts and price increases. It’s unacceptable for the administration to sit back and allow these higher costs to devastate programs across the country.
