The Hill reported this week that a number of school districts in Indiana are cutting their employee’s hours – all thanks to ObamaCare.

Teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and aides are all in danger of facing reduced hours and less pay thanks to the law’s employer mandate. The mandate, which requires employers provide healthcare coverage for employees who work more than 30 hours a week, is proving to be a constant headache for business owners and employers across the country.

In response to the school districts’ frustrations, Members of the Indiana delegation sent a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius expressing their disappointment and frustrations with the job-crushing law.

“Secretary Sebelius, as a former Governor, we are sure you can appreciate the difficult choices being made in the heartland to deal with decisions handed down from Washington, D.C.,” they wrote. “Hundreds of middle class Hoosiers working in schools will now suffer the consequences of a law you told the American people would serve as a solution to making health care affordable for the middle class.”

So far, the Affordable Care Act has proved to be anything but affordable for millions of hard-working families across the country. These teachers and school employees are just the latest to suffer due to the overreaching, job-destroying, billion-dollar law.

Ahead of President Obama’s ObamaCare speech in California tomorrow, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney yesterday stated this:

“He’ll highlight the promising news that despite dire predictions, early data on insurance competition and premiums in the state show that ACA — the Affordable Care Act — is creating quality affordable choices for Californians who plan to buy insurance this fall,” press secretary Jay Carney said.

Hmm…seems like Jay hasn’t been doing his homework. Just earlier this week, Forbes reported that in California, individual health insurance premiums will be skyrocketing up to 146%.

Check out this graphic from Forbes that details these cost increases:

Perhaps Jay should have done some research before promising more “affordable choices” for hard-working families, especially when the data is showing the exact opposite.

With 7 months to go before the implementation of ObamaCare, the public unease and uncertainty around the law continues to grow rapidly by the day. After the American people learned that the scandal-ridden IRS would be handling the law’s implementation, it’s no surprise that the public’s fears and worry surrounding the law continue to mount.

In a new survey released by InsuranceQuotes.com, almost 50% of Americans believe that the new health care law will make it more difficult for them to receive adequate medical care. Additionally, over 64% of people have yet to decide whether or not they are going to sign up for insurance by the January 1st deadline.

Check out some more frightening stats from the survey conducted:

58% of adults aren’t sure if they will be eligible for tax credits to help offset ObamaCare’s costs

60% of people are afraid that ObamaCare will end up increasing their health care costs

68% of low-income Americans aren’t sure if they qualify for tax credits that would help to subsidize their insurance costs

The worst part? If not enough people enroll to help offset the program’s costs, it’ll drive up health care costs even higher for the rest of the country.

Laura Adams, senior insurance analyst at InsuranceQuotes.com, said public uncertainty about Obamacare—particularly a lack of commitment to signing up—could end up driving up health-insurance costs under the program because not enough healthy people will participate to offset benefits payouts.

“I was really shocked that 64 percent [of uninsured adults] said they haven’t decided if they will purchase insurance by the Jan. 1 deadline,” Adams said. “I was definitely surprised by the high number of people who really have no clue what they’re going to do next year.”

So far, all we’ve seen from ObamaCare is growing unease and worry from the American people. It’s unacceptable.

Yesterday it was reported that Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi sent a 78-page memo instructing every House Democrat to designate an ObamaCare Coordinator to defend the health care takeover’s devastating effects on hardworking American families. Congressional Democrats must now choose who will defend ObamaCare’s higher health care costs and cuts to medical services across their respective congressional districts.

The question remains, who will every House Democrat pick to defend ObamaCare?

As part of the ObamaCare “toolkit”, Nancy Pelosi orders her Democrat allies to host public events with liberal groups and their ObamaCare Coordinators to defend ObamaCare’s failure to address health care rate increases and health care rationing. Pelosi encourages House Democrats to persuade their constituents to enroll in ObamaCare – as if they had a choice in the first place.

Democrats are clearly worried about the consequences of ObamaCare. Once ObamaCare is fully implemented in 2014, American families can expect to pay more out of their pockets for health care. As Nancy Pelosi once said of ObamaCare, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” Americans are experiencing the very real and negative consequences of ObamaCare, and they don’t like it.

This week, The Daily Caller reported on the newest victim of ObamaCare’s high costs and increased regulation – the Head Start program. The program, which provides informative health and education services to low-income families and children, expects to take a hit next year when ObamaCare is fully implemented – and program officials are less than pleased.

In one conference session on the pending healthcare bill, “some of the [managers for regional Head Start] organizations [said] ‘We don’t know what to do,’” said Elizabeth Steinberg, the CEO of Community Action Partnership in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The worried managers come from “all over the country,” said Steinberg, whose Head Start program has 387 children.

Nancy Nordyk, a Head Start director in Oregon, predicts that costs next year will increase more than 9%. And due to these skyrocketing costs, many program workers are going to find their hours cut and consequently, a smaller paycheck. Additionally, some staffers may face lay-offs to make up for the increased daily costs of running the program and employing staff.

So let’s get this straight – reduced hours, fewer employees, and more paperwork for program officials?

What a nightmare.

Children all across the country are going to be affected by these cuts and price increases. It’s unacceptable for the administration to sit back and allow these higher costs to devastate programs across the country.

The problem?

Their information is just plain wrong.

The House Committee on Ways and Means has addressed the some of the Administration’s latest false claims.

Check out their findings, by the numbers, below:

108% : the amount of increased growth that health insurance premiums are experiencing thanks to ObamaCare

71% : the number of small businesses who have cited ObamaCare as a road block for job creation

39.6% : the amount of increase in national health spending once ObamaCare is implemented

32% : the amount that ObamaCare is increasing health care costs

25% : the amount of cost increase for people living in Maryland who currently have health insurance

14% : the amount of cost increase for people living in California who currently have health insurance

According to The Hill, yesterday afternoon Reid agreed with Senator Max Baucus’ now-famous claim that ObamaCare will be “a train wreck.” And instead of reevaluating the poorly developed policy, it seems that the Democrats’ solution is just to add MORE money to the billion dollar law. Reid suggested that if we don’t, millions of Americans will be struggling to properly obtain health insurance when it’s fully implemented in 2014.

Seems that when the Democrats were planning their government takeover of our healthcare system, they forgot to plan for what happens after the fact. What a joke.

“Here’s what we have now, we have the menu but we don’t have any way to get to the menu,” Reid said.

When will President Obama and his liberal allies learn that adding millions of dollars to an already broken machine isn’t a commonsense solution?

Millions of hard-working American families make practical, fiscally responsible decisions each and every day. It’s time that Washington learned to do the same.

When ObamaCare was passed three years ago, Nancy Pelosi famously said that “we had to pass the bill to find out what was in it.”

Well, with less than a year to go before the law is fully implemented, the American people are finding out what exactly they’ll be dealing with – - and it’s anything but affordable.

The Wall Street Journal posted an article this week that especially highlights the growing frustration and uncertainty headed our way. Opposition for the healthcare takeover has been growing even more over the past few weeks, especially from the Democratic side. It’s been called “a train wreck,” and it has even been admitted that it will NOT lower health care costs.

“These individuals are worried for good reason. The unpopular health-care law’s rollout is going to be rough. It will also administer several price (and other) shocks to tens of millions of Americans,” says Daniel Kessler.

Here are the top 5 ObamaCare surprises heading your way:

1. Individuals working in smaller offices (less than 50 employees) will be hit with premium increases between 13-23%

2. Full time jobs across the country will potentially be reduced to part-time jobs, since the employer mandate specifies that health insurance must be provided for people who work more 40 hours a week or more

3. Part time workers are facing the most trouble – over 10 million Americans are in danger of having their hours cut to less than 29 hours a week to avoid the tax penalty

4. Over three million people are going to lose health insurance across the board

5. Over six million people will have to pay the individual tax penalty

It’s time that everyone recognized what we already know to be true: ObamaCare is a disaster for the American people.

Frank K. is a father of two from Massachusetts whose family is struggling under the newly imposed Flex Spending Account regulations thanks to ObamaCare.

The FSA accounts, which previously allowed for up to a $5,000 maximum contribution, are now capped at $2,500 per family. For families who have ongoing medical struggles, this is a tremendous burden.

Not only are their medical expenses and insurance premiums on the rise, but their ability to sufficiently plan for and afford medical care for themselves or their families is in jeopardy.

“As a father of two kids who have chronic on-going issues (one with GI issues and one with Autism), and a wife who is unable to work due to back problems, we have a LOT of medical bills every year. So being able to use a $5,000 FSA account every year was a win for us.

We don’t really have a choice to treat or not treat our children.

So when he FSA limit went down to $2500 thanks to ACA we lost quite a chunk of money. As a result of this, and since ObamaCare never put in any support for kids with Autism or actually addressed the underlying cost issues, we as a family have been forced to make painful cutbacks; picking and choosing which therapies to apply for our autistic son, delaying my wife’s back surgery and ultimately forcing us to go from two cars to one to save on costs.

Even so we put most costs onto a Credit Card and payoff what we can when we can. For us ObamaCare solved nothing and if anything my employer will likely force us onto an Exchange because they are self-funded and our care costs so much.”

- Frank K.

Citing revenue increases as the reason why the accounts were slashed in half, the administration has not provided any suggestion or type of recommendation for people who are dependent on their FSA for medical equipment, treatment and care.

“The actual amount of revenue that is generated by the ACA’s changes to FSAs will be determined by budget analysts. However, it may be more important to assess whether the benefits of the FSA change outweigh the cost that will be borne by those employees with substantial medical expenses who had relied on the larger FSA contribution limits.”

- J. Nicole Martin, J.D.

It’s clear that these types of policy changes under ObamaCare are hurting Americans and their ability to care for their families.
