Daniel Parra’s weak sauce $24k quarter

July 17, 2015

The DCCC looked high and low for anyone other than Daniel Parra to run in California’s 21st Congressional District, but in the end they decided to go with the mayor pro tem of Fowler. After Q2 fundraising numbers were posted this week, we can understand their hesitation.weak sauce

Parra raised a weak sauce $24,638.90, spending nearly all of it and leaving himself with only $8,678.81 cash on hand. Irresponsible burn rate aside, that leaves Parra with roughly 1/70th of the $616,000 David Valadao sports in his campaign account. You read that right – 1/70th .

National Democrats must be wondering what could have been if they had been able to recruit their first or even second choice candidate in the race. Oh well, guess they’re stuck with Parra and his whopping $8,678.81 cash on hand.

“Daniel Parra’s weak sauce fundraising numbers show exactly why national Democrats were so hesitant to recruit him in the first place. After two consecutive cycles of crushing defeats in the 21st District, national Democrats need to start preparing themselves no for another rough election night in 2016.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
