Bad news continues for Larry Kissell

January 1, 2009

What is that old saying? When you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. Now both Republicans and Democrats are angry at Larry Kissell – with a Democrat Mayor stepping up to run a write-in campaign against Kissell.

"We felt there was no reason to support Larry Kissell." – Walter Rogers, Black Caucus Spokesman

McClatchy: Mayor of North Carolina city hopes to oust Kissell as 8th District write-in.
“Democrat Antonio Blue, mayor of Dobbins Heights in Richmond County, is stepping up as a write-in candidate to challenge Democrat incumbent U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell and the winner of Tuesday’s Republican runoff between Richard Hudson and Scott Keadle. Blue, also chairman of the Richmond County Democratic Party, was handpicked by the 8th District’s Black Leadership Caucus political action committee and announced Wednesday after a vote by caucus members. NRCC COMMENT:
“Larry Kissell’s attempted political makeover is doing more harm than good. Not only has he lost respect from his Democrat base, his disingenuous attempts to change are transparent to North Carolina families that are frustrated with Kissell’s tax and spend agenda that has made North Carolina’s economy worse.”-
