Who is Kathryn Boockvar, really? ACORN Supporter? Radical Activist?

January 1, 2009

 Good afternoon,

Yesterday, Kathryn Boockvar announced she will run for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District.

In her announcement yesterday, Boockvar claimed she wants to seek compromise and change the culture in Washington stating that her background lends itself to moving things forward in Washington.

While her empty rhetoric may resonate with the independent minded voters in Bucks County, the fact is Boockvar is a radical activist. Her former employer, The Advancement Project, did legal work for ACORN and is run by left wing bomb throwers like Harry Belafonte. Yes, the same Harry Belafonte who likened Former Secretary Of State Colin Powell to a “Plantation Slave” and suggested that Jews were to blame for not stopping the rise of Nazi Germany.

What exactly is Boockvar’s idea of “moving things forward in Washington”?  Truth is, Boockvar is a liberal activist who keeps the company of extreme radicals like Harry Belafonte – not exactly reflective of Bucks County values.

As you begin to cover her campaign, please consider, who is Kathryn Boockvar?

“Don’t let Kathryn Boockvar’s rhetoric fool you, she’s a radical activist that associates herself with far-left fringe elements of the Democratic party.” – NRCC spokesman Nat Sillin

Food for thought.

All best,
Nat

Boockvar’s Former Employer, The Advancement Project, Did Legal Work for ACORN:

“This brief on behalf of plaintiffs in ACORN v. Blanco argues that Louisiana’s failure to afford Orleans Parish residents who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina out-of-state satellite voting centers in the upcoming New Orleans municipal elections violates the Voting Rights Act.” (“ACORN v. Blanco Plaintiffs Omnibus Brief,” Advancement Project Web site, accessed 1/13/2012)

ACORN’s Escapades Are Well-Known:

“The liberal political organizing group ACORN, battered by the release of embarrassing videos and allegations of financial mismanagement and fraud, has also been losing support from several major foundations. …

“The organization was embarrassed recently by videos showing some of its counselors providing advice to a man and woman masquerading as a pimp and a prostitute. It has also been wrestling with an alleged embezzlement scheme by the founder’s brother that brought the group to the brink of financial collapse, according to internal documents. Congress recently voted to ban federal funding for the group, and the Census Bureau and the Internal Revenue Service suspended their cooperation with it. There have been investigations into allegations of voter registration fraud.” (Susan Kinzie, “ACORN Loses Its Funding From Big Foundations,” The Washington Post, 10/03/2009)

“But during the presidential campaign last year, a few ACORN employees working to register voters were charged with filing bogus applications.” (Michael B. Farrell, “What is the ACORN Controversy About?,” The Christian Science Monitor, 9/16/2009)

The Advancement Project is Funded by Radical Leftist Billionaire George Soros:

“The Advancement Project received a $150,000 grant from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations in 2006.” (“Advancement Project,” Open Society Foundations Web site, http://www.soros.org/, accessed 1/13/2012)

Harry Belafonte is a Member of the Advancement Project Board of Directors:

Belafonte Likened Former Secretary Of State Colin Powell To A “Plantation Slave”:

“BLITZER (voice over): Belafonte stunned many Americans with his attack on President Bush and his embrace of Venezuela’s socialist leader, Hugo Chavez.

“But it wasn’t the first time Belafonte lashed out at the Bush administration. In 2002 he went after then Secretary of State Colin Powell, a fellow native of both Harlem and Jamaica, likening him to a plantation slave.

“BELAFONTE: Colin Powell’s committed to come into the house of the master.” (CNN’s “The Situation Room,” 1/23/2006)

Belafonte Suggested That Jews Were to Blame For Not Stopping The Rise Of Nazi Germany:

“BELAFONTE: Well, Mr. Blitzer, let me say this to you, perhaps, just perhaps had the Jews of Germany and people spoken out much earlier and had resisted the tyranny that was on the horizon, perhaps we would never have had…

“BLITZER: Well, wait a minute, wait a minute, are you blaming the Jews of Germany for what Hitler did to them?

“BELAFONTE: No, no. What I’m saying is that if it an awakened citizenry, begins to oppose the first inkling of the subversion of government, of the subversion of our democracy, then perhaps an early warning would have saved the world a lot of what we all experienced. I’m not accusing the Jews at all. BLITZER: Well, I just heard you say perhaps if the Jews of Germany had done something earlier then that might not have happened. That’s what I thought you were getting at.

“BELAFONTE: Well, what I was getting at really is that if all citizens, the Jewish community, the Christian community and all else had taken a very early aggressive stand rather than somehow suggesting or thinking or feeling that this would have gone away, we might have found that Germany would have been in a far different place than it wound up in.” (CNN’s “The Situation Room,” 1/23/2006)
