GOP unites behind Tedisco for Congress

Assembly Minority Leader Jim Tedisco of Schenectady corralled enough support from across the 10-county 20th Congressional District to declare himself the Republican Party candidate.

“Receiving the endorsement of the Republican County Chairmen from across the 20th Congressional District is a privilege, an honor and a critically important first step on this journey,” Tedisco said. “I appreciate the trust they placed in me to serve as our party’s standard bearer for the 20th Congressional District.”

“This race is going to be a sprint, not a marathon.  I will reach out to all voters across the 20th Congressional District to communicate my message of ‘yes we will’ lower taxes, strengthen our economy and create more jobs.”

The National Republican Campaign Committee also endorsed Tedisco, who was first elected to the Assembly in 1982.

“Jim Tedisco is a strong candidate who has a record of standing up and fighting for the interests and values of his constituents. He is the consensus candidate of local Republicans in upstate New York and we are confident he will attract the support of mainstream middle class voters as he has in the past,” said Ken Spain, NRCC communications director…
