McCarthy, Hensarling tapped for NRCC

The National Republican Congressional Committee has tapped two up and coming conservatives to run the 2010 GOP effort, putting Rep. Kevin McCarthy in charge of recruiting and Jeb Hensarling in charge of fund raising.

McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Hensarling (R-Texas) are no strangers to the workings of political committees. In 2008, McCarthy headed up the Young Guns, an NRCC-affiliated fundraising program benefiting the party’s top recruits…

“Both Congressmen Hensarling and McCarthy bring a great deal of experience, knowledge, and ability to the table in regards to understanding the mechanics of a successful campaign effort,” NRCC spokesman Ken Spain told Politico in a statement. “Chairman Sessions is honored to have two outstanding members as part of Team NRCC.”…

The NRCC has already named Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) to serve as vice chairman and Reps. Mike Rogers (R-Mich), Peter Roskam (R-Ill.), and Dean Heller (R-Nev.) to head up their incumbent retention efforts.
