NRCC taps McCarthy and Hensarling

Reps. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) will take over recruiting and fundraising, respectively, at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) for the 2010 cycle…

Both have been mentioned as potential future chairmen. McCarthy is a second-termer who was in state House leadership before coming to Washington…

“Both Congressmen Hensarling and McCarthy bring a great deal of experience, knowledge, and ability to the table in regards to understanding the mechanics of a successful campaign effort,” said NRCC spokesman Ken Spain. “Chairman Sessions is honored to have two outstanding members as part of Team NRCC.”

The NRCC previously named Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) as its vice chairman.
