NRCC raises more than $6M at fundraiser

The National Republican Congressional Committee just put out a press release boasting that it “surpassed its fundraising goal and raised more than $6 million” at its annual March fundraiser.

But it didn’t surpass last year’s total of $8.6 million, as the Politico wrote a year ago. That’s when George W. Bush was president, of course.

As of Feb. 28, the NRCC had $1.8 million cash on hand and $6.4 million in outstanding debts, according to CQ MoneyLine. Its Democratic counterpart had $2.9 million in cash and $15 million in debts.
