The Clock Is Ticking – Has Pelosi Convinced Aubertine to Run?

With 5 PM Deadline Looming, NY Dem Ponders Bringing Budget-Busting Record From Albany To Washington

Washington – There are mere hours left in the Democrats’ rat-race to become the next Pelosi Puppet and the question on everyone’s mind is whether State Sen. Darrel Aubertine will take the plunge. Will Aubertine take the opportunity to move from voting for out-of-control spending and raising taxes on middle-class families in Albany to doing the same in Washington under a Pelosi regime? According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, today could be the day that he makes that choice:

“Aubertine has been talking with his family this week about whether to enter the race. Democrats who want to seek the nomination must submit their names by 5 p.m. today to Democratic Party chairs representing the 11 counties.” (Mark Weiner, “GOP picks candidate for congressional seat, attacks likely Democratic hopeful,” Syracuse Post-Standard, 07/23/09)

“New Yorkers who were upset by Darrel Aubertine’s blind support for a devastating budget will soon find out whether he has the audacity to attempt to bring his irresponsible fiscal record to an already-broken Washington,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain.  “If Aubertine decides to become Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked candidate in this race, voters in Central and Northern New York may have a prime opportunity to denounce both the chaos of the Albany Senate and the fiscal insanity of the Democrat Congress.”

With his constituents becoming fed-up with Aubertine’s support for more taxes, more spending and more failed policies in the train-wreck that has resulted from Albany Democrats, Aubertine may take this chance to try and run for Congress. With Speaker Pelosi in charge, there is no doubt that he would have ample opportunity to do the same in Washington.
