NRCC Announces Dennis Ross for Florida’s 12th Congressional District As ‘On the Radar’ Candidate

Dennis Ross Takes His First Step Toward ‘Young Gun’ Status

Washington- The National Republican Congressional Committee announced today that its first round of ‘On the Radar’ candidates enrolled in its Young Guns program will include former State Representative Dennis Ross. Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. By achieving ‘On the Radar’ status, Dennis Ross has proven his ability to build a successful campaign structure and achieve important fundraising goals.

“The NRCC is committed to working with Dennis Ross as he continues to meet the rigorous goals of the Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions. “With all that Dennis Ross has accomplished in just a few short months, I am confident that he will be successful in his effort to succeed Representative Adam Putnam and stand up against Nancy Pelosi’s reckless anti-jobs agenda.”

Ross has garnered the endorsements of former Gov. Jeb Bush, seven GOP members of the Florida congressional delegation, state Sen. Paula Dockery and four Polk County Commissioners. He has raised $236,000 for his campaign thus far and has consolidated the support of many grassroots leaders in the 12th District.

As an ‘On the Radar’ candidate, Dennis Ross now faces a new set of rigorous benchmarks that will continue to help him build a formidable campaign. The NRCC looks forward to helping Roby achieve these goals on her way to victory in 2010.
