Rangel Under Siege

Rep. Charlie Rangel, whom the GOP hopes to make a national symbol of Democratic misconduct, was under siege today as he ran away from reporters and suffered a nasty catcall from a passerby, the DN’s Michael Saul reports.

Rangel held a news conference on the Upper West Side to discuss the federal stimulus package’s impact on city transit projects. ‘

But the media throng was itching to ask questions about the ethical cloud hanging over Rangel’s head, prompting the Harlem leader to twice announce his refusal to discuss anything other than the subject he had convened the media summit to discuss.
