NRCC Launches Targeted Calls as Arcuri Considers Caving on Pelosi Healthcare Takeover

Will Arcuri Stand Up for New York Taxpayers or Deliver Another Rubber Stamp Vote for His Party Bosses?

Washington- Michael Arcuri will feel the heat from his constituents as the National Republican Congressional Committee launched targeted phone calls today alerting New York voters that their Democrat member of Congress still hasn’t taken a stand against his party’s government takeover of healthcare. With Speaker Nancy Pelosi attempting to force her reckless healthcare bill through Congress as soon as tonight, it appears that Arcuri needs a wake-up call from the folks that he is supposed to represent.

“Somehow, Michael Arcuri still hasn’t gotten the message that Americans have had enough of his party’s agenda of higher taxes and government takeovers,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “With Nancy Pelosi doing her best to pull together a razor-thin majority at the last minute, Arcuri will feel heavy pressure from all sides. New York families are suffering because Democrats are determined to push their reckless big-government agenda at the expense of economic recovery. Now it’s up to Arcuri to decide whether he stands with New York taxpayers or his radical Washington party bosses.”

Call script below:

“This is an action alert from the NRCC about an impending healthcare vote in Congress. Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s dangerous, out of control healthcare spending bill in Congress is due to be voted on this weekend and Congressman Michael Arcuri said he may even vote for it. Even with news today that unemployment has gone over 10%, Michael Arcuri may vote for a bill that threatens our economy by increasing taxes, raising our healthcare costs and creating a massive new government program that middle-class families cannot afford. Michael Arcuri should be focused on creating jobs, yet he might vote yes for Nancy Pelosi’s bill that has more than $500 billion in new taxes, and could lead to rationing of healthcare for all Americans. Please call Michael Arcuri now at 202-225-3121 before it’s too late and tell him to vote no on Nancy Pelosi’s dangerous healthcare scheme. This call is paid for by the National Republican Congressional Committee and not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. 202-479-7000.”
