Bachmann has raised $1.7 million since April
Rep. Michele Bachmann announced
Wednesday that she has raised $1.7 million
since April, a staggering figure that likely
eclipses any candidate in Minnesota history.
The announcement brings Bachmann’s total
fundraising to just over $4.1 million, already
more than her entire war chest for the 2008
cycle.“We have a dedicated team committed
to ensuring the election of strong, grassroots
conservatives this November,” Bachmann
said in a statement. “With their support we’ll
be able to fight back against the Obama-
Clark agenda and their special interest allies
who have made me a top target for defeat.”
Bachmann’s statement comes on the heels of
her challenger Tarryl Clark’s statement
Wednesday morning that she had taken in
$910,000 since April, bringing her total to
$2.1 million.Candidates in the Sixth District
have raised more than almost every other
House race in the country, according to the
Center for Responsive Politics.
