What's Scarier: 9.6% Unemployment? Or John Boehner?

September 16, 2010

Dear Supporter,

What’s scarier: a 9.6 percent unemployment rate and $13 trillion debt? Or John Boehner?

Democrats in Washington — more out of touch than ever — think the answer is “John Boehner.” They fired out a fundraising email this week from President Obama’s campaign arm in another desperate attempt to deflect attention away from their jobs-killing, debt-driven agenda.

We can’t let them get away with it. Please make an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100, or anything you can spare to help me keep the heat on Democrats now through Election Day.

Their email failed to mention that special interests have poured two to three times the cash into the coffers of Democrats like Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and that Democrats worked hand-in-glove with these same special interests on their legislative agenda.

For example, The Washington Times reported that, “Lobbyists help Dems draft climate change bill” (i.e., their “cap and trade” national energy tax). That wasn’t in the email.

Neither was The Hill article that said “President Barack Obama sparked a boom on K Street” with his thousand-page bills. The left out the Fox News piece that says “Special interest spending on Capitol Hill broke records” once Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House.

But the bigger oversight was this: their email failed to explain how President Obama’s plan for raising taxes on small businesses will create new jobs.

And it didn’t explain why, after their failed “stimulus” spending spree – borrowing 41-cents for every dollar spent and back-to-back record deficits – they’re determined to spend even more.

If Democrats won’t tell voters about their failed agenda, we need YOU to help us do it by making a contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 right away.

Remember, they promised their “stimulus” would keep the unemployment rate below 8 percent. It failed. But they don’t want to talk about that – they want to attack John Boehner.

As someone who worked his way through night school and eventually ran his own small business, John has experience with meeting a budget, making a payroll, and creating new jobs.

And that’s really why Democrats are afraid of him: John’s putting his private sector experience to work leading the fight for an up-or-down vote on our plan to stop all of the Obama tax hikes, and to cut government spending to help create new jobs. And voters are responding.

So please make a generous contribution right away to help support Republican candidates who will fight to cut spending, stop the tax hikes, repeal ObamaCare, and get our economy going.

Liberals are on the attack because they know their majority is in jeopardy. That’s been our goal — to end Nancy Pelosi’s reign and give voters a fresh start in Washington — and thanks to your continued support, we’re only 46 days away from making it happen.

Sincerely,
Pete Sessions
Chairman, National Republican Congressional Committee

P.S. Democrats have launched an all-out assault on Republicans using everything at their disposal, from their special interest allies to their friends in the media. You can help us punch back – and keep the focus on their jobs-killing agenda and what we need to do differently – by making a generous contribution to the NRCC right away. Thank you again for all your support!
