Monmouth, Ill. —
MONMOUTH — Farm jobs and education was the focus of the 23rd Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Wednesday at the VFW.

Special guests included a representative from the Illinois Soybean Association and U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling (R-17).

Schilling discussed how he is “working on creating more jobs for the area.” He explained the “games in DC” are preventing legislation to pass on behalf of the interests of Americans and Americans “need to go red, white and blue and go for the interests of America.”

Schilling encouraged members to “fight hard for agriculture” and stated that “we are being called to rise…fight for what’s right”.

Schilling also talked about an upcoming “Free Trade” bill and how it could effect Illinois businesses. He posed a “chilling” question:

“if you’re an Illinois based company, why would you want to stay here?” when describing how “foreign competitors are taking our business.” He further stated “it’s our responsibility to this state to get involved.”

After Schilling spoke, retiring directors Larry Anderson and Jim Malley were recognized for their services. Anderson commented that serving on the board had been “a real honor.”
