Actions Speak Louder Than Words: Gary McDowell Recieves Money from Pelosi and Decieves Michigan Voters

January 11, 2012

Good Afternoon,

Democrat Gary McDowell (MI-01) is already off to a bad start in his second bid for Congress. In this must-read column from Stu Rothenberg, one of the top non-partisan political columnists in the nation, he says McDowell would “not make a commitment” on voting for Nancy Pelosi for speaker. Strange considering McDowell recently accepted $7,000 from the controversial liberal leader. Clearly McDowell is willing to mislead Michigan voters who already rejected him last year because of his support for higher taxes on job creators and his radical views on seniors’ medical care.

McDowell Says One Thing…

McDowell clearly became uncomfortable when asked whether he would commit to voting for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for Speaker should he get elected, ultimately saying that he would not “make a commitment” on how he would vote.” (Roll Call, 10/27/2011)

McDowell Does Another…

NRCC Comment: “Michigan middle-class families are tired of career politicians like Gary McDowell who are willing to mislead voters just to protect their own interests. However, Michigan voters know the truth about McDowell and have already rejected him once because of his support of Pelosi’s reckless spending and big government agenda that has made a bad economy even worse.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek
