Rahall supports driving WV coal/energy industry out of business

June 25, 2012

Yesterday, West Virginia’s Governor Earl Ray Tomblin joined fellow Democrat, Senator Joe Manchin, distancing himself from President Obama and his war on coal.

Gov. Tomblin: “President Obama has apparently made it his mission to drive the backbone of West Virginia’s economy, coal and the energy industry, out of business. That will not only hurt thousands of West Virginia families, it will destroy the economic fabric of our state.”

Unbelievably, Nick Rahall’s response, “I’m supporting Democrats this November, and that includes the Democratic nominee for president.”

There you have it folks – Nick Rahall has admitted he’s putting President Obama’s war on coal and special interests in Washington before West Virginia families and West Virginia energy.

NRCC Comment: “Nick Rahall just made it crystal clear – he supports President Obama’s ‘mission to drive the backbone of West Virginia’s economy, coal and the energy industry, out of business.’ As more of West Virginia’s leaders distance themselves from Obama and his war on energy – Rahall continues to support the President’s policies and anti-energy special interests in Washington rather than West Virginia families.” – NRCC Spokesman Nat Sillin
