Barrow’s Plan Piles More Taxes On Small Businesses, Even As They Freeze Hiring
Barrow’s Big-Government Policies Have ‘Worked’ Toward Destroying Jobs

WASHINGTON — A new poll highlights that under intense financial strain, 70 percent of surveyed small businesses do not plan to hire in the coming months. John Barrow’s plan is making it worse, piling more job-crushing tax hikes on Georgia small businesses.

“Even though many small businesses are struggling to stay viable and many workers are out of a job, John Barrow’s party continues to create a toxic economic environment for job creators,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Barrow’s support for higher taxes is merely another way for his party to further their taxing, spending and borrowing priorities – but how many jobs will his plan create?”

Democrat policies are keeping small businesses from creating new jobs in a frail economy:

“Seventy percent of the respondents said they plan to maintain their current employee levels. Only 21 percent said they plan to hire one or more workers in coming months.

“Among the respondents, 35 percent said they were somewhat or significantly understaffed, the bank said.” (“Survey: Most small businesses don’t plan to hire in coming months despite being understaffed,” Associated Press, 7/30/2012)

An Ernst & Young report exposed that Democrats’ proposed tax hikes will devastate the economy and cost more than 700,000 jobs. (Robert Carroll & Gerald Prante, “Long-run macroeconomic impact of increasing tax rates on high-income taxpayers in 2013,” Ernst & Young LLP, 7/17/2012)

President Obama insists that his party’s failed policies have ‘worked’:

“Just like we’ve tried their plan, we tried our plan — and it worked. That’s the difference.” (“Remarks by the President at a Campaign Event,” The White House, 7/24/2012)
